MISSION

To convey reliable information about I-49, and to facilitate community-wide dialogue of the advantages, or drawbacks if any, of constructing the I-49 Inner-City Connector (3 1/2 miles from I-220 to I-20...at Murphy Street).

Advantages:

1) Promotes business growth in Shreveport-Bossier (Ark-La-Tex); specifically Casinos, Auto Dealerships, Restaurants, Hotels and General Businesses.

2) A terrific "integral piece" to truly complete I-49 in North Louisiana (the Final Segment to be constructed, AFTER I-49 reaches I-220).

3) Part of the solution to allow commuters in North Bossier (one of the fastest growing areas in Louisiana) to utilize I-220, to one-day I-49, to I-49 Inner-City Connector...travelling easily and in a timely manner South through all of Shreveport, etc.). Currently in Bossier, traffic is overly congested on the primary two arteries (Benton Road and Airline Drive, with forecasts for continued growth and congestion on these roads).

Disadvantages:
