Tragic and deadly accidents on North Market Street and Market Street can be averted. I 49 REPORT believes once the Inner-City Connector is built, just off Downtown Shreveport, these accidents will be minimized.

Johnnie Johnson cried a little when she spoke about her daughter Samantha on Friday, but she laughed more. Samantha, 11, was killed Wednesday when she was hit by an SUV while waiting for her school bus to North Highlands Elementary School. I 49 REPORT believes NOT FINISHING the Inner-City Connector and NOT tying I-49 to I-20 near Murphy Street will lead to more unnecessary deaths and accidents. Premise; the Connector will significantly reduce traffic on North Market Street and Downtown Shreveport/Bossier City.
